We are a local club raising money locally and with local service priorities but we are a member club of Lions Club International.
Without this global membership:
• We probably couldn’t afford the insurance to hold our Fayre and Gala each year which are major fundraisers for us.
• We could not offer the local schools participation in the annual ROAR competition which they find very effective.
• We could not have screened 223 individuals for Diabetes at our Fayre in June and referred eight to their GP.
Our Mid Sussex zone has 7 clubs including us with a total of over 150 Lions doing what we all do.
We are all different but we are all the same.
Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things.
But at the end of the day we are a local club.
All our money is raised locally through a number of fundraising events throughout the year, some large, some smaller.
And although we will support national and global disasters over 97% of our donations, which totalled over £9,300 last year, were made to local organisations or for the benefit of local people.

This year I want to grow the Club, not just in membership but in awareness and the number of local people we help.
